The Contemporary Craft Fair returns to Hever Castle, bringing together more than 170 of the UK’s finest contemporary craftmakers and artists. Visitors can discover exceptional handmade jewellery, ceramics, glass, textiles, homeware, sculpture and more – meet the makers, enjoy live demonstrations, music, food and family attractions, all set within the castle’s award-winning gardens. The Life of General Thomas Gage at Firle Place
Open daily Sunday to Wednesday until 28th October (closed 19 Aug & 2 Sept)
The shot heard around the world and the start of the American Revolution. As America celebrates the 250th anniversary of Independence, Firle Place, home of the Gage family, commemorates the life of General Thomas Gage (1719-1787), Commander of the British Forces in America. Works of art and personal items relating to his career are displayed throughout the house, including the gold Freedom Box presented when he was awarded the Freedom of the City of New York in 1773.

The Sussex Guild Contemporary Craft Show at Pashley Manor Gardens

The Sussex Guild is exhibiting over the August Bank Holiday weekend at Pashley Manor Gardens, described as one of the finest gardens in England. Guild designers will show their work in a large marquee in front of the Grade I listed oak-framed Tudor house. You'll have a chance to chat to the makers of beautifully handmade ceramics, furniture, textiles, jewellery, woodwork, glass, metalwork and more. Work may be purchased or commissioned. Greenaway Live – A Night to Remember

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of music, entertainment, and community spirit! Greenaway Live is back, and this year, it’s bigger and better than ever. Come to make a difference in the lives of families in Sussex, Surrey, and Kent. This spectacular event is organised by The Greenaway Foundation, an incredible charity dedicated to supporting families in need. All proceeds from Greenaway Live will go towards the Foundation’s Christmas efforts, helping to provide food and Christmas presents for families across Sussex, Surrey, and Kent. Bringing joy and comfort to those who need it most during the festive season. Every penny raised goes directly to the local community to help ease the effects of child poverty.
