Flying Scotsman at The Bluebell Railway - Wednesday 23rd August to Sunday 3rd September

Join this special celebration of Flying Scotsman's 100 anniversary as the world's most famous steam locomotive returns back to The Bluebell Railway this summer. Come and see this historic locomotive at The Bluebell Railway. You can see Flying Scotsman via the normal service trains, and tickets are also available to visit and explore the Flying Scotsman itself at Sheffield Park station. Hever in History - Saturday 26th to Monday 28th August

Step back in time at Hever Castle & Gardens for an immersive event of sights and sounds throughout history during the August bank holiday weekend. Experience living history encampments and discover crafts, cooking, and battle displays from the Middle Ages to as recent as 20th Century as part of Hever in History. Watch demonstrations in one of the arenas which include medieval cannons, muskets and guns. The popular Summer Jousting Tournament will be coming to a close for the season. It is also the last chance to be entertained by the falconry displays from Birds of Prey Willow Centre in Sevenoaks.

Exotic Spots Family Trail at Sheffield Park and Garden - School Holidays until Sunday 3rd September

Six colourful animals are hanging out in Sheffield Park and Garden with their favourite exotic trees and plants. Can you spot them all? This new free family trail, designed by artists Tom Sears and Tori Flower, features larger-than-life illustrations from monkeys in palm trees to anteaters ambling past giant gunneras. Visit the Sheffield Park and Garden website for details of sensory-friendly quieter morning sessions.
Also this summer, look out for free Kwik Cricket drop-in sessions every Wednesday during the holidays.

The Sussex Guild Contemporary Craft Show at Pashley Manor Gardens - Saturday 28th to Monday 30th August

The Sussex Guild is exhibiting over the August Bank Holiday at Pashley Manor Gardens. Guild designers will be showing their work in a large marquee in front of the Grade I listed oak framed Tudor house. You’ll have a chance to chat to the makers of beautifully handmade ceramics, furniture, textiles, jewellery, woodwork, glass, metalwork and more. Work can be purchased or specially commissioned.
The award-winning gardens at Pashley are quintessentially English. Wander through colour-themed garden 'rooms' and discover vistas, fountain, ponds and fine old trees. Produce from the Kitchen Garden can be sampled at the Garden Room Café and terrace. All making a delightful day out with a special entry price £12.50.
