Teddy contemplates climate change and how the long, hot summer has an impact on canine routines, as explained by his human translator, Helen Stockton

We dogs like different landscapes, but perhaps our favourite is a beach. People seem quite keen on them too. So it’s handy, with the UK being an island nation, that you are never more than 70 miles from the sea. And Sussex is blessed with a long stretch of coastline offering plenty of walking opportunities for the county’s dogs.

Spring is gradually giving way to summer, the countryside looks lush, and there are baby animals and birds in abundance.

One of the quirks of modern life is the emergence of a plethora of national and international themed days. Some of the most bizarre include ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day’, ‘International Sloth Day’ and ‘National Hugging Day’. All worthy in their own way, I’m sure. However, 11 April hosts a day that I can truly get behind and that is National Pet Day.
