Come Join The BPO Party This Spring!
Sunday 23rd March & Sunday 13th April
The Brighton Philharmonic’s Centenary season reaches its grand finale at the Brighton Dome this spring with a feast for the ears and eyes. A night of New York icons on 23 March includes Steve Reich’s luminous Reich/Richter, inspired by the art of Gerhard Richter, plus works by Yoko Ono, Terry Riley and Lou Harrison/John Cage. Reich’s close associate, Colin Currie, gives his BPO debut as performer/conductor alongside soloist and BPO Music Director, Joanna MacGregor.
On 13 April, Joanna swaps the piano for the podium to conduct a 100th birthday gala of cosmic proportions. One of Messiaen’s greatest living interpreters Cynthia Millar, and incredible pianist Joseph Havlat, join the BPO to perform the composer’s mind- blowing Turangalîla Symphony.
