Full of Life Festival Returns to East Sussex

The Full of Life Festival is back this year to celebrate ageing in East Sussex. The event marks Older People’s Day, which is held annually on 1 October.
A bumper programme of events will be held across the county throughout September and October. The schedule includes a whole host of exciting activities and talks.
The festival is run in collaboration between East Sussex County Council, the East Sussex Seniors Association, seven local senior forums, and the event organisers. These groups are all passionate about amplifying the voice of older people. They also work together to change the way people think about ageing in East Sussex.
What is on the Schedule?
Every year the festival gets bigger and better, with 2026 being no exception. This year will feature more than 100 events, meaning there will be something for everyone, whatever their interest. Some of the scheduled activities include kurling, walking tennis, walking football, coffee mornings, Nordic walking, health and wellbeing talks, and model railways. Residents who are over 50 and keen to try new hobbies are encouraged to come along. It provides an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, or just get more active.
Positive Feedback From Residents
Residents who have attended in previous years have shared many positive things about their experiences. One attendee noted that it is a lovely event where everyone is very friendly. Another participant shared that the festival was very informative and made them realise how important exercise is for older people. Many local residents have also shared how much they look forward to the festival every autumn.
