Easy at home pamper tips to indulge yourself this Winter

Is the Christmas rush leaving you in a twirl? Create a home spa experience with Sara Whatley’s top five pamper tips

Sometimes Christmas gets a bit too crackers and the lure of a long hot soak in the bath is irresistible. Be selfish! Light a candle, pour yourself a glass of vino and sink into a bubbly heaven with just the latest page-turner for company.
Having said that, Christmas is also a time for being merry, festive, and sociable. But how do you bring these two worlds together? Easy! A pamper party!

Gather your girlfriends for a night of pure girlish indulgence, which will hopefully leave you all feeling relaxed, pampered and ready for the rest of Christmas. FYI dress code is comfort all the way: could be PJs, could be leggings and a T, could be your finest cashmere sweats and cardi.
Set the atmosphere with candles, an oil diffuser, low lighting and plenty of cosy blankets and cushions to lounge on. You could create a festive theme with gentle Christmas music, something mulled on the hob and warmed mince pies. Alternatively, ban the C-word altogether and forget about gift wrapping and 'tablescaping' for an evening. Don’t forget about delicious and nutritious nibbles and drinks though – no one wants to pamper on an empty stomach!

My top 5 pamper tips
1. Ask all your girlfriends to bring along their favourite or can’t-live-without beauty products and a selection of varnishes. That way everyone can come away with a new beauty try out and a new colour on their digits.
2. Get in a selection of face masks and sheet masks and have a pile of sliced cucumber in the fridge to soothe tired eyes. Keeping a selection of hair bands and clips handy is a good idea to diffuse hair-in-mask situations.

3. Work in pairs for hand massages and manicures. Shape and buff nails, pick a deliciously scented hand cream or mask then get creative with nail art. Invest in some fine detail brushes and nail stickers then let your imaginations go wild.
4. Treat your feet: get bowls of warm water and add in therapeutic bath salts for a truly invigorating foot soak. Follow with a deep moisturise and a slick of polish, or pop on some moisture socks to help your moisturiser work double time.
5. Take a quiet moment between the giggles and share your go-to wellness, health and beauty podcasts/books/recipes/workouts etc. It’s great to have a new recommendation and to broaden our wellness horizons.
